Eligibility

To be eligible for the BSSC CGL 2025 exam, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Educational Qualification:

A graduation degree from a recognized university is the basic requirement. Some posts, like Junior Statistical Assistant and Auditor, have specific subject requirements (e.g., Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, or Statistics). For the Data Entry Operator position, a graduation degree with PGDCA, BCA, or B.Sc (IT) is required.

Age Limit (as of August 1, 2025):

The minimum age is 21 years. The maximum age for different categories is as follows:

Unreserved Male: 37 years

Unreserved Female: 40 years

BC/EBC (Male & Female): 40 years

SC/ST (Male & Female): 42 years

Exams and Subjects

The BSSC CGL exam consists of two stages: a Prelims and a Mains exam. Both exams are objective-type (multiple-choice questions).

Preliminary Exam:

Total Questions: 150

Total Marks: 600

Duration: 2 hours and 15 minutes

Marking: +4 marks for each correct answer and a negative marking of -1 for each incorrect answer.

Subjects:

General Studies: 50 questions

General Science & Mathematics: 50 questions

Comprehension/Logical Reasoning/Mental Ability: 50 questions

Mains Exam:

The Mains exam has two papers. Candidates must qualify Paper 1 to be eligible for Paper 2.

Paper 1 (General Hindi): This is a qualifying paper with 100 questions (400 marks). Candidates must score a minimum of 30% to pass.

Paper 2 (General Knowledge): The pattern for this paper is similar to the Prelims, covering the same subjects: General Studies, General Science & Mathematics, and Reasoning Ability. It also has 150 questions for a total of 600 marks, with the same marking scheme as the Prelims.

How to Apply

Fill the Application Form: After successful registration, log in using your credentials. Carefully fill in the online application form with all the required personal and educational details.

Upload Documents: Upload scanned copies of your photo, signature, and other necessary documents, such as your educational certificates and caste certificate (if applicable). Make sure the documents meet the specified format and size requirements.

Pay the Examination Fee: Pay the application fee online using a debit card, credit card, net banking, or UPI. The fee structure is as follows:

₹540 for General, BC/EBC (Male), and all candidates from outside Bihar.

₹135 for SC/ST, women, and PwD candidates who are permanent residents of Bihar.
