RRB JE 2025: Notification, Recruitment, Eligibility, How to Apply

The RRB OR Railway Recruitment Board holds the RRB JE exam to hire JE (Junior Engineer), Junior Engineer (Information Technology), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and CMA (Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant for various railway zones all across the country. Although this is a national-level test, RRB posts openings for individual zones separately.

Those who want to take the RRB JE 2025 exam must fill out the application form online. The recruiting board has yet to release the exam notification.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online for RRB JE Exam (Junior Engineer) by using the official website.

The JE (Junior Engineer) exam is being conducted in multiple phases, First stage Computer Based Test (CBT), Second Stage Computer Based Test (CBT), and Document Verification/ Medical Examination. Candidates who passed these criteria of this examination will be considered for the RRB JE (Junior Engineer) positions.

The RRB JE (Junior Engineer) First Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) exam syllabus includes Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness. The Second Stage CBT exam syllabus of the RRB JE (Junior Engineer) includes Basics of Computers and Applications, Physics & Chemistry, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, General Awareness, and Technical Abilities.

Aspirants must pay Rs. 500 for GEN/OBC/Other candidates and Rs. 250 for SC/ST/PWD candidates to fill out the application form for the RRB JE (Junior Engineer) exam.

Essential Educational Qualifications:

(a) Please see Post Para-meter (Annexure A of the notification) for the prescribed qualifications for each post.

(b) Candidates must already have the educational/technical/professional qualifications prescribed in the CEN from recognized Institute/University as on the last date (i.e., 30.11.2025) for submission of ONLINE application.

(c) Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed educational/technical/professional qualification SHOULD NOT apply.

(d) In short, It is expected a diploma or degree in respective trade of the Post. Please see the notification.

NOTE: The educational/technical/professional qualification certificates viz. Provisional or Regular Certificates should contain the date of issue. In case, date of issue of these certificates is after the closing date of the notification, then the consolidated marks sheet with date of declaration of the final qualifying exam or individual mark sheets of all the semesters/years with date of declaration of each semester /year result should be submitted. In case of non-availability of date in any of these certificates, then a certificate indicating date of declaration of result from the Board/University to this effect should be produced at the time of DV.

• Material Science : Mechanical properties of engineering materials – tensile strength, compressive strength, ductility, malleability, hardness, toughness, brittleness, impact strength, fatigue, creep resistance. Classification of steels, mild steel and alloy steels. Importance of heat treatment. Heat treatment processes – annealing, normalizing, hardening, tempering, carburizing, nitriding and cyaniding.

• Strength of Materials : Stress, strain, stress strain diagram, factor of safety, thermal stresses, strain energy, proof resilience and modules of resilience. Fee Payable by Candidates for Railway RRB JE Exam:

Fee all candidates: Rs. 500/-

Note: This amount of Rs. 400 will be returned after deducting any applicable bank charges when you appear in the First Stage CBT.

EWS/ SC/ ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWDs/ Female/ Minorities/ Transgender: Rs. 250/-

Note: This amount of Rs. 250 will be returned after deducting any applicable bank charges when you appear in the First Stage CBT.

Payment Method:

1- Online fee payment only through internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI will be accepted. All applicable

service charges shall be borne by the candidate.

2- Fee can be paid by the candidates through online mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any

other mode.
